#75 Overcoming Limits 1-3-17
This week’s readings and practice are about disability vocabulary. I found some very interesting accounts of people who refused to be limited by their disabilities. I wanted to try an experiment. This time I put all the links to the reading and listening exercises on the same page as the vocabulary practice. Let me know if that works for you, or if you would rather have them directly in the newsletter. The page is Disability Vocabulary, and it includes a classification activity and matching practice as well. Do watch at least the first TED talk, and read the first article too if you can. I think you will find them inspiring, as ell as good English practice. The rest are also worth listening to if you have the time. I’m also working on a page on EnglishHints that would group all the academic vocabulary pages by topic for easier reference. I hope to have that finished by the next issue of English Detective. A note if you get gmail: Have you missed any issues of English Detective? if you find English Detective in your Promotions box, you can move it to your Primary box (if you want) by clicking on it and dragging it there, then clicking Yes when asked if you want to always get it in the Primary box. If you are not already getting English Detective, you can subscribe by completing the form here. (It's free!) Also, you can reach me by mail at 1752 Driftwood Drive, El Centro, CA 92243, USA. |
